The EU Multi-stakeholder platform adopts common proposals towards Sustainable EU by 2030

Today, 30 high-level members from the EU’s Multi-stakeholder Platform on SDGs adopted common proposals from civil society, public and private to move towards a Sustainable EU by 2030. Despite coming all from very different backgrounds, representing very diverse constituencies, we managed to find common ground and strongly push together in the same direction. This paper will now feed into the upcoming European Commission reflection paper ‘Towards a Sustainable Europe by 2030’.

Is the EU Gender Action Plan II actually transforming the lives of women and girls in the world? Has the lives of women and girls improved thanks to EU actions? With its report “Transforming lives: EU Gender Action Plan II – From Implementation to Impact”, CONCORD aims to demonstrate how the EU Gender Action Plan 2016-2020 is being implemented. Based on in-country research in Rwanda, Vietnam and Ghana, CONCORD report provides concrete recommendations on how to bring about a more impactful implementation of the Action Plan.

Brussels, 29 June 2018 – CONCORD is worried by the political directions endorsed by the European Council’s decisions to continue lowering the number of migrants’ arrivals to Europe. Putting all the stakes in ring-fencing the EU and reinforcing our borders to stop migrants may easily be proven to be ineffective and a breach to founding European values.

Our 15th General Assembly gathered our members in Brussels for 2 days on June 13th and 14th. The 2018’s edition marked several important milestones for our constituency: new statutes, renewal of half the board and new financial guidelines, without forgetting the sessions on the EU elections 2019 and the future EU budget (MFF). The discussions were intense but rewarded by a festive celebration moment at the end of the first day.
