The campaign

In the run up to the May 2019 European Parliamentary elections, we would like political leaders and advisers to experience and be aware of the impact their political choices have on Europe and the world. We want to illustrate how, in various policy domains, it is important to look at the bigger picture, with a long-term perspective. We strongly believe this would be in everybody’s interests.

We call on all political leaders and advisers to put Sustainable Development front and center of the next EU political priorities. This would allow the elected Commission and Parliament representatives to tackle environmental, social, economic and governance challenges together, for the wellbeing of our people within the limits of our planet.

Who we are

With the support of 55 member organisations representing over 2,600 NGOs, our confederation is the main interlocutor vis-à-vis the EU institutions on development policy. European Environmental Bureau

The EEB is the largest network of environmental citizens’ organisations in Europe. It currently consists of around 140 member organisations in more than 30 countries (all EU Member States plus some accession and neighbouring countries), including a growing number of European networks, and representing some 30 million individual members and supporters. Make Europe Sustainable for All is a project we run with 25 partners in 15 EU Member States to advocate for the ambitious implementation of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda by and in the EU.

Global Health Advocates

Global Health Advocates is a civil society organisation that advocates for policy change at EU and French level to tackle major health threats, build sustainable health systems and enhance health equity. We work towards an EU that puts people’s needs and their health at the core of its health, development and research and innovation policies.

Transparency International

Politically non-partisan, TI is a global movement of more than 100 national chapters and an international secretariat in Berlin. As coalition-builders, we work constructively and cooperatively with partners in government, business and civil society to put effective measures in place to tackle corruption and promote transparency, accountability and integrity at all levels and across all sectors of society.
