Cristina is a development cooperation and humanitarian action professional with sixteen years of international experience in research, advocacy and programme management, covering migration and displacement, conflict, governance and human rights, with work in several countries across Latin America, Africa and Asia.

Her early career took her to West and Central Africa, where she managed programmes supporting refugees and displaced communities in Chad, the Central African Republic and Cameroon. That experience of working alongside people whose rights and futures depend on decisions taken far away led her to focus her career on influencing those decisions, connecting the local, regional and global levels.

Since 2017 she has worked with Oxfam, holding senior policy roles on migration, EU-Sahel relations, and conflict and humanitarian crises. She is currently Head of Oxfam’s EU Office in Brussels, where she leads the confederation’s EU advocacy and engagement.

Cristina joined the CONCORD Board motivated by the belief that, at a defining moment for the EU and for the sector, none of the agendas the membership works on can be defended in isolation. She believes a stronger, more coordinated European civil society voice is essential, one that stays firmly anchored in the analysis and priorities of partners in the Global South and works alongside them in a shared mission of solidarity and global justice
