A people-centred EU-AU Summit: Letter ahead of the European Council regarding the EU-AU Summit

The 6th European Union (EU)-African Union (AU) Summit is scheduled to take place on 17-18 February 2022. For this, we have written a letter to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, addressing these concerns ahead of the Summit. Throughout the course of our longstanding, ongoing dialogue with the EU institutions and with African civil society partners in the AU-EU partnership framework, we have consistently advocated for a people-centered partnership and achieving transformational results for all. The key element we wish to convey through the letter is increased and meaningful engagement with civil society.
