Closing the Gaps: the importance of Civil Society Engagement in the Global Gateway - COVER

The scale-up of the EU’s Global Gateway strategy takes place against a backdrop of shrinking civic space globally, continual cuts to Official Development Assistance (ODA), and increasing prominence of the private sector in international cooperation.

While not a panacea for the challenges and growing pains the Global Gateway is experiencing, improved engagement of civil society at all levels as well as stronger monitoring, transparency, and accountability mechanisms are necessary to improve the relevance, quality and impacts of the strategy.
