As the current Gender Action Plan III (GAP III) will be coming to an end in 2027 and drafting will soon begin for the Gender Action Plan IV (GAP IV), we have published our Position Paper with what we believe needs to be in GAP IV to ensure continued effective gender mainstreaming in the EU’s external actions from 2028 onwards.

We need to see continued progress built on the solid basis introduced by the current GAP III. GAP IV should focus even more on implementation, deepen partnerships with dedicated funding to women’s rights organisations (WROs), and explicitly embrace feminist principles.
