Joint letter: EU Multiannual Financial Frame 2021-2027
This joint letter is written in advance of the European Council on 28 & 29 June, 2018. It is proposed that the EU’s external actions should be based on its values as set out in Article 21 of the Lisbon Treaty, which have led to a number of international commitments on development, humanitarian assistance, peace building, gender equality, rule of law, and human rights and democracy.
This letter urges EU Heads of State and Government to reflect on these commitments in upcoming discussions on the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), including the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Agenda for Humanity, the Global Strategy for the EU’s Foreign and Security Policy, the European Consensus on Development and the European Consensus on Humanitarian aid.
