The EU’s short-sighted aid cuts are a choice – so is the way forward! CONCORD Newsletter April 2025

In January, CONCORD launched its first Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) position paper, “Shaping International Partnerships: Budgeting our Common Future” , analysing the consequences of recent allocation cuts on the credibility of the EU and presenting recommendations  to ensure the EU remains a committed and reliable partner.
Building on that, our second paper, “Stepping up EU international cooperation through the next Multiannual Financial Framework”, published in April, provides a framework to uphold the integrity of Official Development Assistance (ODA).

In this month’s newsletter, we also present our recent press release on the 2024 ODA preliminary figures by the OECD – Development Assistance Committee (DAC).
