Tanya Cox has headed up the CONCORD Confederation since the beginning of 2019. She has embarked with members on a journey of reflection and dialogue, reimagining the role of NGOs in international cooperation and in contributing to transformative, systemic change.
Before joining the CONCORD Secretariat, Tanya was a key figure in the Brussels NGO advocacy world for 15 years, holding senior positions in Plan International and Save the Children. Most particularly, from 2011 to 2015, she led the work of the CONCORD-Beyond 2015 European Task Force, guiding European organisations to influence the EU’s position in the sustainable development negotiations, with considerable success in pushing for a people- and planet-centred approach. She then became the co-chair of CONCORD’s Policy Direction Committee, leading CONCORD’s strategic direction and planning. She has a background as an international consultant specialising in communication. Tanya is known for her constant drive to provide innovative solutions to the difficult debates of our sector as well as for her passion and dedication.
