Dear CONCORD members and friends,

Today, 22 March, a terrible act of terrorism occurred in Brussels, the heart of Europe. As you may have heard, the airport and public transport were affected and the national authorities count many dead and injured people. The Belgian authorities have announced a level 4 terrorist alert for the entire territory. Also heightened security measures have been implemented with immediate effect by the EU institutions.

Solidarity Brussels Attacks

CONCORD members and staff were shocked and saddened by these cruel attacks and we send our heartfelt condolences to the families, relatives and friends of the victims. Together with our European CONCORD fellows we stand in solidarity, united against this terrorism for a world of solidarity, peace and equality.

As a precautionary measure, the CONCORD office will remain closed tomorrow 23 March but CONCORD secretariat colleagues will be working from home and able to respond to urgent requests. All CONCORD meetings this week have been postponed. More information will follow.

In solidarity/ En solidarité,

Your CONCORD secretariat team
