Our 18th General Assembly, brought together our Confederation virtually once again from all corners of Europe. This annual gathering is an opportunity for us to look back at what we have achieved and to forward to our future, together.

We would also like to thank our outgoing Board Member, Floris Faber (ACT Alliance EU), who’s mandate is ending after five years with us!
NEW MEMBERS
Our General Assembly approved the membership of three new organisations: European Disability Forum (Associate Member), International Rescue Committee (Associate Member) and Alliance 2015 (Member). We’re looking forward to working together!
The thematic sessions
Each General Assembly is an opportunity to exchange expertise and perspectives on specific topics. This time, our discussions focused on co-creating our future and developing our vision and purpose for 2023-2026. Our President, Rilli Lappalainen, kicked-off the event, followed by Vice-President Céline Mias who celebrated what we have achieved in the past year.
We were also joined by two keynote speakers, Jeremy Heimans, co-author of New Power: How power works in a hyper connected world, and Ben Philips, author of How to fight inequality and why that fight needs you. Both offered critical perspectives on how we can re-think power to mobilise people, transform our systems and tackle inequalities.
During the second day, we put those insightful discussions into practice as we brainstormed a renewed vision and purpose for our Confederation. We exchanged our proposals and ideas for CONCORD’s vision while inspiring and challenging each other. Our renewed vision: equal, just and inclusive societies in a sustainable world.
These two days just go to show how much is possible when we come together – even if virtually! We’d like to thank all our Members for their active participation, our keynote speakers for their inspiration as well as our critical friends, Paul Okumu (Head of Secretariat, Africa Platform), Wangeci Gitata (Activist/Market systems development expert) and Andrea Ordoñez (Director, Southern Voice) who offered their guidance in the process. We’re already looking forward to continue co-creating our future in the next steps!
