devworkshop2014

CONCORD is organising the first #DevWorkshop at the EU Parliament, that includes a Development Fair to showcase policy work and key information on 5 November 2014.

Getting to know the new European Parliament

In May 2014, the European elections took place, resulting in changed European Parliament in which more than half of the MEPs are newly elected. The following years, with the Post-2015 Framework and agreement on the Sustainable Development Goals, the role of the EP in relation to Development Cooperation is more relevant than ever. Moreover, since the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, the Parliament’s power has increased significantly and decides on important matters with as much weight as the Member States, while often being more civil-society oriented than the other institutions. This crucial link with civil society is one which we value strongly.

Who can join?

Members of the European Parliament (including those from other committees, not just DEVE) and CONCORD members. If you are interested in joining please contact us as soon as possible as places are limited.
